Watching Blizzard: Out with the old news, in with the new news

Let’s dive straight into this new week with some new news. (New news? Is that even a thing? We’ll call it a thing.)

The Battle for Azeroth hype train continues

• There’s just no escaping the hype train. We took a look at the awesome weapon transmog options we’ve seen in the Battle for Azeroth files so far.

Get ready to celebrate in the Nexus

• The Lunar Festival kicks off next Tuesday. That means new quests, new skins, and the chance to race lunar rockets, which is an event that clearly belongs in every Blizzard game.
• The latest Heroes PTR patch brings Maiev into the game. Expect to see her on live servers next week.

Yes, we’re still talking about Overwatch League

• Last week was crazy in Overwatch League as all three undefeated teams took a loss. Proof, as Anna says, that even god kings can bleed.
• Once again, this week’s matches will be back on Wednesday. After managing to win a single game against Dynasty last week, the Shanghai Dragons have matches against two more top teams: they’re facing off with NYXL on Thursday and Spitfire on Saturday. The Dragons have shown serious improvement in their recent matches, and I’m definitely curious to see them face down the League’s top talent.

Instead, let’s talk fashion

• Wait, what?
• You read that right: fashion. Wild Bangarang has released some super rad Overwatchleggings. Unfortunately, my bank account won’t let me buy them all.

But what will happen to my Hearthstone decks?!

• Nerfs are coming to some of the most powerful Hearthstone cards in the current meta, and while I’m happy to see that Highlander Priests will (probably) no longer stomp me into the dirt, I will miss my BFF Corridor Creeper. Former BFF, that is, because it’s getting disenchanted as soon as the nerf hits. Sorry, Corridor Creeper. It was fun while it lasted.
• If you’re a super casual Hearthstone player with no idea what this means, it’s probably good news for you.

What’s next for Allied Races?

• Anne considers the Arakkoa as a potential playable race.

Coming soon and happening now in Diablo 3

• The seasonal cycle continues! Season 12 comes to a close in less than two weeks, on February 11. That means Season 13 will kick off before the end of February, launching on February 23. There’s still enough time to wrap up your seasonal journey… if you hurry.
• Diablo 3 has been celebrating the franchise’s 21-year anniversary with a trip back to ye olden dayes of Diablo 1. But the event ends when the month ends, so you need to jump on it if you want to participate and get your pet cow. (Moo.)
