Watching Blizzard: Surprise! Today really was a quiet day

After all of yesterday’s unexpected excitement, today really has been a quiet day. There isn’t even any Overwatch League to watch, which is making the evening feel a little empty, too. (Sure, HCT and HGC have events this weekend, but after an action-packed season of OWL, that doesn’t feel like much.)
But instead of bemoaning our lack of things to do, let’s look at what’s happening on Blizzard Watch today. (Spoiler: Not much, and none of it’s all that new.)
Blizzard keeps trying to build up a Heroes of the Storm story
- I’m still not convinced that the wild, anything-goes realm of the Nexus needs coherent lore… particularly when the comics so far are more setup than story. The latest is all about the Alterac Pass map, but maybe a coherent narrative will come together in the end. Stranger things have happened.
And speaking of Heroes…
- There was a new balance patch today, which features the usual grab bag of hero changes — but also some nice buffs to newcomer Yrel (who also had a price cut this week).
Are you still working on the Mage Tower?
- For procrastinators like myself, the answer is definitely yes. And if you, like me, still need a little help getting your appearance, I updated and republished some tips Rossi put together earlier this month.
- And if you’re still struggling, let me suggest YouTube. There are a lot of video guides for you to peruse, and seeing how the fight is supposed to work can be a big help.
And, really, that’s it for today. But tomorrow… who knows? I’ll see you on the other side, but until then, this is Liz, signing out.
