Watching Blizzard: It's only just beginning

We’ve escaped Monday, but we haven’t escaped Monday’s news because it’s right here, still following us around. And here we are trying to run away from the ghost of Monday when all it wants is a little attention. News needs to be read, people. That’s why we’re all here, right? United briefly by our interest in today’s gaming headlines, we read.
Or watch. Or listen. Whatever strikes your fancy, really.
So let’s get to it.
The Gamescom announcements start now!
- Or now-ish. I’m not that good at time zones. But regardless of the exact start time, Blizzard will be on-hand with news. But who wants to read a long, boring schedule? What you actually want to know is…
- The Overwatch panel is Wednesday morning at 4AM CDT. (Good news for night owls, bad news for those of us with day jobs.) We expect some exciting new content followed up by the next short at 5AM. We have no idea what it will be, but Tyler is hoping it stars D.Va.
- And if you were wondering where that last Warbringers short was hiding, wonder no more: the Azshara short will be revealed Friday at a much more reasonable 12PM CDT. I, for one, welcome our new Naga overlords.
Everyone asks where’s Jaina… no one asks how’s Jaina
You oughta be in pictures!
There’s a new hero… er… demon?… in town
- Mephisto is heading to Heroes of the Storm, joining his baby brother Diablo. Do I detect some sibling rivalry on the horizon? I think so.
- But, really, whenever anything Diablo comes up I just wonder… what could this have to do with Diablo 4? It could have something to do with Diablo 4, right?
- Just as a reminder, Blizzard has not actually confirmed Diablo 4 — just a Diablo 3 port.
Are Death Knights finally facing consequences for their actions in Legion?
- Not really, but a small quest chain in Drustvar references the tiny, minor, almost inconsequential issue of the Deathlord slaughtering a lot of red dragons.
It’s time for another character profile!
That’s all for now, my fine gaming friends. Until next time, this is Liz, signing out.
