I replaced my camera with a Game Boy (Ad-free)

Since I started making this video and posting about it on Instagram, so many folks have reached out to tell me that they LOVED their Game Boy Camera and Printer. After using one for a week straight, I understand why--this camera is just plain fun to use.

A special shout-out to 2bitboy and Oleg Drofa for being oh so patient with me as I learned all things Game Boy and for bringing this system into 2025. Also, as I said in the video, I dare you to take a step back in tech time. My week away has been nothing short of amazing and a great reminder that friction can create fun and foster loads of creativity.

The first thing I did after watching the video, was going through my photo library and look for the old pics I took with the 1,2mp Nokia phones ‘back in the days’. Even looked at some old videos. Ah nostalgia. Unfortunately, just last year I traded in my old trusty Canon 7D mk1 for an new camera. So no getting back to old gear for me unfortunately.

It was kind of comedic because it was another friend’s birthday dinner and she just whipped it out from her bag and took a group pic on the rear camera and it definitely took me back to my old iPhone 4S I had in middle school😂
