Newsletter: week of 5/26

Hello from my couch as I nervously watch the New York Knicks attempt to make it to game six. (we did it <3)

I recently became a projector person, hence why my TV is on the floor and not completely gone, but I'm 90% sure that the TV is never going to make it back onto the TV stand. If you own a TV and are happy with it, then you don't need this, I promise. But if you're in the market for something new... a TV the size of a wall is prettttty awesome (so long as you only watch TV in dark rooms or at night, which is quite the caveat).

This week has been all about watching the Kicks (obvi) and getting back into my YouTube flow. May was a slow month for getting products in and finding things I could talk about for 8+ minutes, plus I also overbooked myself with travel. All of this left me feeling tired and uninspired, and completely knocked me off the creative train. But god damn, I am determined to get back to it, even if it feels like drudging through mud. (Thank you for being patient!)

This weekend, you can expect an 1,000 photos with the S25 Edge, which I am still loving, and next week I'll be jamming on an X Half review! If you have questions about the X Half, send 'em my way. Here is everything else I was absorbing this week.

What I scrolled by:

The CIA Secretly Ran a Star Wars Fan Site

How 10 different people customize identical apartments in the same building

The Pixel 10 Leaks
"yes it looks like a phone"

What the hell did MKBHD hit with his Porsche??

David Lynch's personal belongings are up for auction. The sale includes a $800 fragment of the Berlin Wall, many megaphones like this one, three Mr. Coffee makers for $1,250, and many cameras!

What I watched:

Hannah and I had a rare weekend to ourselves up in the woods, which means movies! First, we watched A Philadelphia Story (5/10, because talk-heavy films aren't my favorite). Then we tuned into Pee-wee as Himself (9/10, because I love documentaries about people, but thought this could have either been done in one episode or could have brought a bit more detail to the two).

Fujifilm X Half hands-on: the most analogue digital camera
Vjeran's hands-on was great! I cannot wait to unbox mine (but not until the S25 Edge video goes up).

What Apple’s Early Failures Taught Steve Jobs About Success!
I didn't watch all of this, but I skipped around because it's AI-generated. How do you feel about content like this?

What I listened to:

Maggie Rogers - Commencement Speech - NYU Tisch School of the Arts 2025
As someone who moved to NYC at 18 and attended art school, this hit very close to home, and I came out of it missing the joy of making things with my friends (cough, cough, Phil, Vjeran, Alix, Andru... <3).

Meet the 49-Year-Old Creator Who Rebuilt From Zero (After Getting Fired)
I'm a big fan of both Valentin and Jason, great folks!

Good News for People Who Love Bad News - Modest Mouse
They are going back on tour, so I've been brushing up (and loving every moment of it).

Arrived Anxious, Left Bored - Flume
I was Flume's biggest fan circa 2014, and this album feels the most like those days of his music.

Alright, bud, as always, if you saw anything awesome this week, please do share. Hope you have some great weekend plans ahead of you.
Appreciate you <3

The "How 10 different people customize identical apartments in the same building" link, the one with the four-poster bed is amazing!

On the Jobs video, I wanna consume art and media created with love by people. I won't say "I can always tell" or something but it's definitely a turn off when I learn something's been created by the contentt-theft machine and passed off as something else. Fun timeline. Projectors intrigue me, but honestly as someone who owns a huge-ass TV I feel like backlighting can't be overrated. Maybe one day if I want a bigger screen, VR will have me covered. I watched Baby Driver in my HTC Vive some years ago, and that was a low-res mess, but it *was* a huge screen, and that was something.
