Hey Shane, what is your opinion of H1Z1:Auto Royale? A quick history H1Z1 King of the kill was the popular battle royal game before one of the devs left and created PUBG. Now the current devs created Auto:Royale which is a car combat battle royal game mode currently in beta. I think this opens even more doors to the battle royal scene, and I think Sony should have capitalized on this with the Twisted Metal franchise. Its sad that David Jaffes studio shut down, but do you think we should see another Twisted Metal by David Jaffe with an Auto Royale game mode?

Hey Shane! Are there any reviews that you have done in the past that you have come to regret the score you gave? How about any reviews other staff members of the websites you've worked at; any major disagreements?

Hi Shane, am I wrong in assuming that PC/Console gamer demographic is moving towards the 30s-40s? We have disposable income, but not a lot of time to play. So why are the big publishers making games longer and longer? E.g. Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, Wildlands, Battlefront, Overwatch, WoW, GTA, Witcher, etc. Big name games seem to range from 60+ hours to infinite hours in the form of MMO, multiplayer, and games-as-a-service. This is probably nice if you only buy 2 games a year, but are people in their 30s who buy 1-2 games a month and just want to spend max 10 hours playing each one such outliers that no one designs games for us? Why are we not a more significant market?

Listening to THS made me think of this question. Do you play video games with your wife? I tried getting my wife to play decades ago with Starcraft. She really liked it up until the computer started attacking her. Any suggestions on co-op games we could play together?

Who are your favorite games journalists? Which pod casts do you enjoy listening to?

Have you started any sort of exercise into your weekly routine? Have you given any thought to adding the option for patrons to increase their subscription by a dollar for every 5 lbs you can keep off every month?

Shane. I have been trowelling online to see if I could find where the “we need micro transactions, loot boxes etc” because “games are too expensive to make” started, but I’ve come up with nothing. Do you know where this started and what’s your take? Are you a “there’s a place for them” or more towards Jim Sterling?

Shane. Other than the Souls games do you have any ‘video game kryponite?’ For me it’s racing games or racing in games. God damn, I hate the motorbike races in GTA and Sleeping Dogs.

Shanester. With SEGA screwing up putting Yakuza 6 up on the PSN store instead of just the demo, what are some other major screw ups you’ve seen in the industry?

Monster Hunter: World just came out in January and has already become Capcom’s best selling game in history. God of War comes out in April, and Detroit comes out in May. Do this think this trend of releasing games outside of Holiday Q4 will continue to the point where we might have a year that sees a big game releasing every month? Do you think the industry is slowing moving away from feeling the “need” to have a game release at the end of the year?
