Personally I think pay right away is for the best, hopefully should get around those people who bail just before pay-day.

Also, if people want to try they can just pledge $1 for the first month so shouldn’t feel like they are losing out. A months worth of Siftd for the price a 2 packs of chewing gum. No brainer

Pay right away!

My thinking on the pay up front change to Patreon would probably ultimately boil down to whether or not pay first would dissuade potential legit subscribers from dipping in. If not or if the number of first time subs per month is already negligible I'd say go for it. If it's not going to make a dent in new subs (or there's not much of a dent to make) why not try to monetize even a small percentage of the users who would otherwise view & bail before billing.

BTW, I play my Switch 90% Handheld / 10% Docked. The ease of playing anywhere, but its mainly in 2 places - sitting up in bed before going to sleep, or on the lounge while my wife is watching netflix/TV. Occasionally I'll play docked and enjoy the big screen version. I thought it was going to be the other way around and have surprised myself how much I take advantage of its convenience. Give it a go Shane!

Pay right away vote here too. If you have made your way this far, you know why your here and you shouldnt be surprised about the service you've subscribed to. This isn't like software where you can get a demo, but should you want a taste of whats offered before committing, go to youtube once its unlocked a few days after where its free. As long as the unsubscribe option is available easily and effective immediately, its all good.

I’d vote for the pay now option

Interested in your opinion on the AR games on the iphone

I think letting people try is good, free to play games gives a taste ;p. I wonder the number of people that bail. I think it is kind of a math question. Those that bail would only pay for one month before canceling most likely while those that get hook might pay forever... Also there is a 1 month loss for people that would apply anyways so it would be something like : hooked*12*4-bail out*4-anyways*4. So over one year if you get 1 hooked and 12 bailout\anyways you would break even. In my opinion the bails are unlikely to be paying if the payment is required first but they could becomes hooked if not, so it could be more than 12 but also people might pay without thinking and then they might stay because they liked the content. This is under the assumption that people only enter the 1st which is unlikely and I only did the math for one year... You have the numbers so you can do the math by making some expectation but unless you literally have a ton of bails, I am not sure it would be profitable or make a notable difference. However, I see how loosing 10 guys is worse than winning 1 for your moral even if the one will make you more revenue in the end.

I'm fine with re2 remake getting 'overall game of the show' awards. The trailer and gameplay demos have been pretty impactful. I'd also hope other categories are highlighted too. new I.P. ; sports games; exclusives etc. After Evolved's numerous awards though (& E3 'downgrades'), I try and take it all with a grain of salt
