Man Hybrid heaven was great! I remember renting it at random as a teen. Without a ps1 I was blown away by the cutscenes, I even taped them with my VCR! The RPG concept was so cool but if I remember you lvl up your specific strike by using them... so my combo ended up being always like 7 right kick in a row which looks kind of stupid... There was no incentive otherwise (that i understood at the time) but I think some ennemies later on needed you to use different striking so I was kind of screwed by the game... Oh and saving needed the memory pack I think, and fortunately my father bought one thinking mario 64 (or golden eye) needed it...
