July Bonus Card

Though we will be back to proper polls soon, this month for the sake of time and limitations I am wielding my power as the Penpal in Chief to declare July’s bonus card for Raven Dandies! I’ve reached deep into the archives to pull out a piece that I think pairs beautifully with “Stand and Face Me, My Love (Centaur Kiss)”.
Made back in 2020, this study was drawn after a promotional photo of Elisabeth Bergner starring in the 1928 German silent film Doña Juana. This photo floated around the internet for a while misattributed as an actress playing Hamlet, but the real source is even more delightful: Doña Juana is based on a Spanish play of the same title, about the romantic misadventures of a nobleman’s daughter who has been educated and raised as a boy. I always loved this image and thought it was Very Gender, so I’m happy to add it to the MBPS catalogue.
