mini-mix: Nicolas Jaar
Added 2020-07-19 14:42:25 +0000 UTCThe absurdly prolific Nico Jaar has been on a tear this year, most recently dropping his 3rd full-length of 2020, Telas, just this past week. His catalog can feel impenetrable to the uninitiated -- the new record, while very sick, is probably not the best entry point -- so I thought he was a perfect candidate for one of these mini-mixes. "Best of" is always subjective, but it seems even more so with Jaar, depending on which iteration of Jaar you prefer. So here's a two-hour-long mix of some of my favorite Jaar jams, encompassing his vast body of solo work, as well as tracks from his various side projects, including Darkside, Just Friends, and Against All Logic, and his production work for fka twigs and Sasha Spielberg aka Buzzy Lee, plus a couple of high profile remixes. More mini-mixes coming this week, and if yall have any requests for a specific artist you'd like to see in this series, just let me know.
