Added 2024-08-10 15:59:01 +0000 UTCAlright! So, you might have seen a comment on the last chapter (Ch 29) that suggested that each person on the crew gets an animal companion. This would be a mark of the team, an assistant, and a combat aid. (Shout out to Cmols897!)
This is your chance to recommend ideas for people! Make sure to read what other people have commented, as I'm more likely to go with something with a lot of likes. Both humans and AI will be getting one, so recommend away! This is one of those "polls" where I get the final say, but you guys normally have pretty good ideas, so I'll be leaning on what you guys vote for with likes!
EDIT: should point out that Kayt is already getting a cat, as she requested.

Regardless of what the others get, all of their companions should have optical camouflage and a function to get rid of nouroviruses and otherwise boost their resilience against net runners or aggressive ai.

The biggest one would be perfect for killing the really crazy full borgs

None of the gangs are ready for robo lizards and I'd like to see anyone sane not shit themselves at a sprinting robo lizard coming right at them. Also, guard geese for the town.

2024-08-10 16:03:44 +0000 UTCHmmm i’ve always liked birds and I have to recommend one. An eagle or raven or some such for Kayt would be incredibly useful for a long range sniper like Kat. A sensor/spotter/distraction and support companion would be a big boon for her and would be able to follow her anywhere quite easily if she needs to seek high ground or reposition very quickly. Edit in response to the additional info: awwww shame but a cat is also good for Kayt (small and mobile), I havent read and caught up to the latest chapter yet. But my point still stands for any of the other members. A bird companion is an extremely mobile and capable scout. Equiped with a sharp beak and talons it would also be a good last line of defence or to open up a target for an attack or to escape/reposition. If any of the gang is going for a more light/stealth build or run and gun style, it is still super useful.
