733 (Present Day)
The plan was fairly simple, find a well hidden place that is still accessible, pull out the wooden door from the bag of holding and meld it to a rock wall. Locating the perfect spot proved to be more challenging than expected; the island was moving at a notably rapid pace, which felt like standing on top of the canvas of a speeding wagon.
We stumbled upon some ruins, shame we found no valuable objects but deeper in, we spotted an opening to a cavern illuminated by crystals and bio-luminescent slugs. We slowed down our pace to admire the beauty of the cavern and that's when things went to shit.
Thick tendrils blasted out of the ground to entangle us with strength comparable to a Roper, and a creepy looking tentacled bulb sprouted to bite me in half, fortunately it glanced off my armor. Quick as a whip, Breena dodged and cut two writhing fleshy tendrils in one swift motion. I would've been impressed by the elf's acrobatic maneuver if not for the corrosive sap that came out of the monstrous plant from where it was wounded.
"FUUUUUUUCK!!! it got in my eye!" shrieked Jakar, wrestling with the tendrils.
The corrosive substance reacted very rapidly to our clothing, melting the fabric almost instantly but had no effect on our magical garments. The slime did not melt our flesh however the burning sensation was truly unbearable.
"Breena stop cutting it!" I called out.
"Gods! it stings! Radne water! blast us with water, anything to get this fucking slime off of us!" Jakar demanded while firing crackling electrical energy that bounced ineffectually off the mutated plant.
"Water will react violently with the acid and we'll be boiled alive! have you learned nothing from school?" I replied through gritted teeth trying not to pass out from the pain.
My mind was racing but I am coming up with nothing that could help us in this situation, so I decided to fire up a spell I've never tried casting before. It matches the same flow of energy as the healing spells that I often utilize, but instead of magic that gives life, I channeled my energies into a force of pure malignance. Blight spread through the vines, the roots and the flesh of this carnivorous plant and in moments it disintegrated into a pile of rotting matter.
After cleaning up the muck and corrosive sap, we finally managed to perform the task given to us. Once the door was firmly secured, I pulled out the Proprietor's Key and inserted it in the keyhole. With a metalic click, the door opened to the brightly-lit office of the proprietor, and we entered in a sorry and indecent state.
