What's Next?

Most of you are probably aware that I have been back in Japan for about a week and a half now. I returned on December 3rd with my partner, and we were in vacation mode since that time. We pretty much cancelled all of our big touristy outings in favor of just playing Echoes of Wisdom on our Switch. And it was awesome. Today, December 15th, she returned to our home in Thailand and I will now be solo in Japan until the end of February.

This Japan trip has several goals, the first being to try to get some rest and take some kind of real mental break. You guys know it's been a weird year for me and I still have some of that funk on me that I need to shed. Even if it's just for a week, I wanna try to stop thinking about work and reset myself mentally. Before I can do that, I do need to do one last major push on the Hippo game to get it finished before the end of the year. I feel like we are on track for that to happen. I will share the working cover art here soon, as well.

Once Hippo is done, I will attempt that rest and try to make an obvious restart point mentally... and then it's onto thinking hard on the next major game project. It does feel like it is going to happen, and plenty of ideas have already been discussed with my partner. I just need to put a lot of thought into how that will all play out. I do imagine it will need to be a mostly private thing. Trying to be super public with my first game's development and promising regular content didn't work out. And with this second one, I need the passion and the art to come first. You guys know that my experience of releasing TMOS was majorly tainted. So I want to protect myself and this next project a lot more. Keep it close to the chest.

There will be the occasional post on here for my dedicated followers. But likely not much on Youtube or Instagram about the development until it's much further along. I have some really interesting ideas cooking and it's gonna go very different and unexpected coming from TMOS. I want to hide myself away in the lab and reemerge in two years with something really wild. So, unless something major happens in the next couple months, that's the plan... to make my plan to start the next chapter.
