OWW: 28 – A Tentative Combat Path

IMO that doesn’t fully fit. I think Mc is smart enough to know the letter was suspicious as hell and he did them a favor by rolling with it.

Hmm. Might need to edit that scene in this chapter a tad. That wasn’t intended as an insult. It was a little joke at his expense. She is not mad at him, just slightly bitter at the way he went about it. Ty, though. You’re right as that does read kinda off.

this section threw me off so much i had to go back and read chapter 17 -- “Don’t,” I said. “His head’s big enough as it is.” I was still a tad bitter about the way he’d accosted me after the falsified warning had arrived. He’d let it go and prepared without telling anyone Mom had forged it, but he still hadn’t needed to be so pushy. -- -- “You weren’t surprised until you saw the letter itself. Until you saw your mother’s handwriting on a note supposedly from the front lines,” he said calmly. “Until then, you were relieved. Don’t try to tell me otherwise. My skill in diplomacy is nearly a hundred fifty, which gives me an innate understanding of people, what they’re feeling, and why. I know when something is strange. You know something about this, and I’ve seen Atrinaska’s handwriting thousands of times. Why did she forge that letter from the General?” __ Forging a general letter is high treason and could have lead to everyone involved dying and shes upset he asked her a single question about it,since he knew she knew. that part of the story feels jarring like if a person who called in the equivalant of a bomb threat to a school is upset the principle asked them why would you do that

Villages and towns in your story should theoretically be a bit larger than the typical medival ones if skills and healing magic exist. Just a thought.
