How do you think international relations will work if China becomes the hegemon? For example: Do you think a China- lead world will be more peaceful or more turbulent? Will China be interventionist for issues such as nuclear proliferation?

Two Questions: 1) What if Japan's constitution came with it a system of checks and balances that ensured the military stayed in line? 2) (With Godzilla vs. Kong coming out, thought to poke your brain with this one). What if Godzilla existed? As in 1954, nuclear testing irradiated something and turned it into a near, unstoppable leviathan that man's weapons failed to subdue. What would a world where such a creature existed be like?

Two questions: 1) Now that they’re out of the EU, do you think the UK will be admitted into NAFTA in the near-future? 2) Who do you think is more likely to control the Suez in the future: Turkey or France?

Would the Ottomans have industrialized, become a great power etc. if they had been conquered by Muhammad Ali of Egypt, or would he have been deposed/made into a puppet?

Has the the rise of the Internet affected geopolitics and is this a good or bad thing for the future

Could there have been a Christian crusade against the Maghreb region. In a similar fashion to the crusades to the Holy land. With multiply nations and knights orderers joining to conquer land and form whole new nations like the Kingdom of Jerusalem.

What if the Norman Kingdom of Africa survived? How would it develop as a society. What would happen to the Native islamic population. Would there be Christian European settlement? If not the Norman Kingdom of Africa do you consider it possible that other European medditerranean nation could have conquered parts of Maghreb + and or Libya in the Middle Ages. Would the Native islamic population be converted to christianity. Also what do you think would end up becoming the language of such a nation. Would they speak some form of Latin? Would the Native Arabic and Berber population hold on to their languages or would they end up speaking the same language as the European conqueres. Converted or not. And in general how would some Christian more or less European nation. Speaking a latin language (likely related to Italian) affect history in short and long term.

Are you familiar with Awaking from the meaning crisis? And the religion without a religion movement?

Good one !

1. What do you think future of Democracy is? 2. What if Industrial revolution began in India/ China (point of divergence could be there was no plague due to reasons you can best conjure).

What are your top 3 or 4 broad historical concepts you wish that more people learned about in school or aren't widely known? I'm a teacher and I incorporate some big picture stuff like deep time, the significance of the industrial revolution relative to human history, I am wondering about some deep cut trends or truths you've come across

Thoughts on Michigan? Also, any thoughts on Thomas Jefferson?

Do you believe that Monarchism can see a comeback in certain Countries in the Future ?

You often say that America is in the process of loosing interest in the rest of the world. Aside from pulling out of the Middle East, could you give any further evidence for this? And what to expect if it continues?

Could the US invade Mexico and restructure the country similarly to what they did with Germany or Japan with the intention of mutually benefiting both countries? What would the positive and negative consequences be?

In your 100 years from now map you predict China will take most of Russian territory and Turkey takes Crimea. By this logic giving up Crimea to save Siberia would be worth it. Anyways my question is should Russia and do whatever it takes to create an alliance with the US? What would be the pros and cons for Russia?

And a final one what if Pompey would have won the war with Caesar?

What if Caesar would not have been able to conquer Gaul? What would the world have been like? A game of three with Romans, Germans and Gauls?

I was always fascinated with the fact that Rome did not collapse at all at the end of the Republic. Three what if questions: What if Marius would not have existed? Would Rome have been able o reform its military and continue its road?

In your “Map of the world in 100 years”, you predicted that California would become autonomous (as Scotland is to England) due to America and California moving in separate ethnic and cultural directions, with even you predicting a large religious, socially right wing backlash in a couple of decades, which California would likely not privy to. Could you please elaborate on this? What are the factors you’re looking at that make you predict this to be. As a Christian conservative this of course sounds great, but almost too good to be true.

1) Say in the early mid 1700's the Iroquois, Huron, Mohicans, etc. create a large tribal confederacy in the Ohio Valley and around the Great Lakes to combat French and British encroachment (assume they don't immediately collapse from infighting). Does this accelerate their conquest by Europeans or would it lead to the Europeans avoiding the area until a later date? 2) What if Lake Chad shrinks even further suddenly and Chad totally loses control and only has a tenuous hold on N'Djamena itself? How far do you think the US and France would go to intervene to stop that power vacuum from occurring? Would it cause Niger to collapse next? 3) Odds of a quasi-religious movement that rejects Social Media entirely (or general attitude that reflects this) getting major support in North America (or the West more generally) in the next 10 years? 4) Thoughts on Peter Thiel?

1. Is Communist China a more effective rival to the US than the Soviet Union? 2. What if Martin Luther King was not assassinated?

So, political question for you. You've made it pretty clear where you lie on the political spectrum, but putting that aside, do you see any merit in exploring fringe political theories? Could there be elements of Communism and/or Fascism that could be used to patch fracturing democracies we saw emerging in 2020 or is constant, unadulterated democracy non-negotiable? Personally, I don't subscribe to the mentioned ideologies, but I do believe we can take aspects to make more stable democracies, using failed dictatorships as models of what not to do. You know, learn from history, not ignore it.

What if American never invaded IRAQ and Afghanistan?

I’m curious how you think the world might be different today had the US government not bailed out any companies during the 2008 financial crisis.

1. Would you ever debate a “breadtuber” 2. How would you rank the European colonizers from least to most brutal?
