Current WIP + Feedback Gathering

Hey all

I hope you guys enjoyed the v0.5 Annie update. I would like to know if you liked the less linear sort of playthrough. I would like to expand this and make it slightly more eventful. I do think it'll be beneficial for some of the others but perhaps not all. So let me know in the comments if you want to see this system expanded on.

For Annie's case in particular, I plan to expand to even more events and side stories and some of them could also path around internally. Due to the time constraints, I consider the current implementation to be simple in regards to what I aim to achieve with her story. In hindsight though the data handling currently is a little naive, which brings me to...

Engine updates

This entire week I've been working (tirelessly to be honest), on making sure the engine handle data perfectly. There's been a lot of drastic changes already, none of them visual yet but my current plans are to make the rewind system perfect and data handling among each story category also perfect. It's getting pretty close so this means no more buggy reverting. You'd be able to go back to any point in chat and it would remember the state you had at that point and continue smoothly. I want it to handle some data randomization as well for a few random events and/or their ordering but also rewinding should trigger the rewind on the other chats of the same category to retain consistency.

Another thing that is fixed is the lag on opening up Annie's story (and other stories with long scripts). That should no longer be an issue entirely. I do have further game interface plans that I will update here as I work on them/get to them.

Upcoming Content Updates

Also around the end of this month should be the Emma reboot story which I'll make sure is also decently sized update and not too short. Annie might receive one more small update next weekend, just to polish a few things and add a few remaining images and a few short storyline segments that fill in a few gaps that I've noted. This will be on the old engine however as the new one is not yet stable.

Feedback Gathering

I do want to ask though if anyone had any feedback regarding content, art, story, interface, functionality etc. I've been trying to put myself in the player's shoes for a while and being exposed to the game so often has made it harder to relate to a fresh pair of eyes.
