Him not recognizing Wenai was so weird to me too. My only guess is they are trying to convince us they are in their 40’s at the time.. so maybe he supposed to look much older (I mean.. he doesnt lol). And now Wenai is much younger.. so he didnt connect it to the younger version of him??? I don’t think that Tada remembers the other life. I saw it more like the pain from the other timeline is echoing back on him and giving him these intense moments of emotions..and those flashes were more for the viewers to show a glimpse into Tada’s life after Armin died.
