Gun costume base

My dear rat owners,

Pardon me but I would like to get formal and sincere for a moment. I have felt very grateful lately that I have had the privilege to work through a concept in the presence of such intelligent and introspective people like yourselves. I'm currently conferencing with some cool writers to finish up my script and make sure the tone and core of the piece is clear. Thank you for giving me the benefit of doubt.

In the showdown of my video where I need to defeat my gun shirt, I transform into a simulation of a gun. The base of the gun costume is what you see in this video. I usually like to combine an anthropomorphic object with an animal. My submarine and airplane characters are usually aquatic mammals like dolphins or whales. What animal should the gun be combined with? I want you to answer this question from a design point of view not metaphorically, because this will determine how I shape my mask.

As you can see the back of the suit looks really boring (which I don't usually care about because you never see my back or butt in my videos) But if you have any cool ideas on how to spruce up the back of the suit let me know!By the way, I will wear something under this so it is less see-through and obscene for my video don’t worry. Should the Obi belt be silver or grey instead of black?

P.s I'm going to be wearing thigh high ivory boots to match the Ivory grips in the original design of the gun from my gun shirt. (If you don't know what I'm talking about refer to previous posts!) I had this dumb idea that maybe the costume should be part elephant. But I’m not sure how to make it not look dorky.

Thank you again for being my mini community that I can depend on ♥️🐀

I've also been leaning towards dogs. Honestly, I did not know that people who own guns think of themselves as sheepdogs protecting the sheep but that is incredibly interesting. It makes me want to integrate that into the script in some way. Ok, this is kind of embarrassing but since I've never seen an actual gun I had no idea the grips had that checkered design. I guess it makes sense because it literally helps you grip it better. I'm glad I'm getting lots of people's perspectives! I feel lucky.

I'm inclined to agree with Gwenivere about going for a dog, or possibly a wolf, playing into the popular mythos amongst (at least American, can't speak to international) gun owners of being a "Sheepdog" ("good guys" who carry a gun) protecting the "Sheep" (people who don't carry a gun) from "wolves" (people who carry a gun but are "bad guys"). Not knowing the content of your video I'm not sure if that aspect would be thematically relevant, but that's where my thoughts first go. Especially if it's hard to tell whether its a dog or wolf, or the dog morphs into the wolf, since that mentality of placing themselves separate from (and more powerful than) everyone else is really unhealthy and often leads to them causing harm to others. For sprucing up the back, maybe you could add a checkering type pattern to it, similar to the checkering pattern on pistol grips, since that's found on the backstrap reasonably often as well.

Looking up pictures of a Pistol shrimp right now, the exoskeleton could almost look like armour which I've always wanted to make!

Pistol shrimp? Maybe too literal, plus the colour isn't right I guess. But an interesting creature nonetheless 😅
