Campaign Update
Added 2019-09-04 21:45:12 +0000 UTCAs long promised, the campaign is now Monthly, and set to charge up front.
Q - How does this affect existing patrons?
A - Not at all. Or shouldn't.
Q - Why make this change?
A - Two main reasons.
One is now I'm not scrambling to schedule things around the date, or figure out what to release when. I can just put stuff out as soon as it's done.
Two, switching to monthly is required for the "pay up front" model. And the pay up front model lets me not worry about when people join, or what they have access to. This way is a lot more straight forward, and everyone can just access stuff as soon as they join.
As it was, people joining existed in a weird gray area that I didn't like. But it made it possible to make payments based around the "per unit of work" model, which I found more comfortable. I'm trying to adopt a more low pressure model going forward so there's less chance I burn out, so this should work better.
I hope.
Another smaller note. I've decided to make the incremental game updates restricted to the $10 tier and up. Why? Well really it's just because it felt like those guys weren't getting enough for their contribution. So maybe this way they can feel more involved in the development, and they are getting something worthwhile (and maybe give incentive to others to sign up, because I do enjoy money for food and video games)
I'm not altering the existing incremental updates. So everyone can still see those. Going forward though future updates will be locked to that tier and up.
