Btw, my go-to Pinoy restaurant in Manhattan is Tradisyon, 790 9th Av. It also has a stall in the Singaporean food court Urban Hawker along W 50th St.

Wow, that's so cool! Is your cousin in Peru right now or in the states? Let me know what you think of the restaurants in Woodside. Filipino cooking is regional so some might cook one dish better than another. If it helps, you can ask what their specialty is. And thinking about it, a really good place is not in that area. It's called Lahi, and it was featured in the New York Times. I think it's on Queens Blvd.

I'll give it a shot. My cousin is a chef who's trained under the most famous chef in Peru and he explained that restaurants are like an embassy representing the culture of a nation and its history. I would love to try Filipino food. I used to work in Woodside and know how to get there quickly.
