KYE Discord Server is LIVE!

For a while now, we've been looking for a way to foster more community and conversation among (and with) our amazing listeners. We settled on creating a "Discord" server to do that. Subscribers at the West Coast Straussian ($10/mo) level and above will have access to the KYE server.

In order to connect, you'll need to:

1. Create a username on Discord.com. (For more detailed instructions, click here.)

2. Follow these instructions for connecting your Patreon account to Discord.

If you've never used Discord before, the server is basically a big chatroom, which is divided into channels for specific subjects and types of conversation. We hope Discord will allow us to maintain more consistent contact with you, share resources, answer questions, develop episode ideas, and even schedule impromptu video or voice chats for members. Most importantly, we hope you'll enjoy connecting with each other!!

I expect there will be some troubleshooting and growing pains as we get this up and running, so please be patient with me — and feel free to post any questions or concerns, here or on the server! I'll do my best to answer; I'm hoping listeners with Discord experience will help me out in doing so too.

P.S. As part of this launch, we're going to phase out the Bircher ($25/mo), at least for the time being. We haven't found a way to consistently get a quorum for the Zoom chats, and we're both pretty sick of Zoom anyway. Hopefully the Discord will make it easier to schedule live chats in the future — whether audio or video. If you're currently subscribed as a Bircher, you should feel free to downgrade your membership to a lower level.
