It gives artists a lot of grief trying to depict convincing depth in an image. Six hours of scribbling and studying though have already got me learning how to push those head-on limbs, how an exaggeration might be called for. Building bodies with construction (as opposed to my usual shape painting process) is still clumsy in my hands, but I'm getting the hang of it! More to come probably around Wednesday as I try out new poses, harder exaggerations and try to make some more polished sketches.
I'm posting a handful of today's scribbles so y'all can see how its coming along. The top half are picked out from my 30-second sketch rounds after studying, the bottom numbered ones are my latest as the last of the caffeine burns out of my system. Attempts to put what I learned to use without reference. I'm digging 2!
And a big thanks to my first supporters! You guys are making this a lot easier to do and I can't wait to get back to work tomorrow.
