See, he has this brother that can use magic to heal people and he’s very very good at it, but Serkan always asks that he heals the magic only to a certain point, so that the wound heals into a scar. Because his brother is there, and he trusts his brother very much. Serkan can be reckless in battle. It’s how he’s so renowned after all.
But one day he did not go to battle. He went on a simple patrol. But things changed rapidly, and before he knew it he was at death’s door. His country is volatile. There’s always someone to fight. There’s always someone who wants you dead. There’s always an enemy. He was at death’s door and his trusted brother was not there to pull him back. He really was going to die and there was nothing he could do.
But there is someone who said they would support him, even when he was being difficult and mean. Not because there was love or sentimentality, but because it was her job. Her duty. It was what she was tasked to do, and until she no longer was required to do it, she would do her job well. No matter what, she would fulfill the duty she decided to undertake. And she did.
