Well, Cam knew it was a long time coming really. They knew that there would come a point where Reid’s goodwill ran out and he leaves them. And that is technically what they hoped for when they were younger. Because of an amalgamation of things, Cam felt that Reid SHOULD leave them. End their long friendship and go separate ways. But if the friendship were to end, they wanted it to be on THEIR terms. And that’s the partial reason for the meanness. But Reid persisted on and on, for almost 10 whole years.

Now that it seemed that Reid no longer wanted anything to do with them, Cam found themselves unknowingly slipping into melancholy. Indeed, they missed Reid quite a lot. It was only after his leaving did they realize how they never were lonely before this. So when they saw someone who vaguely looked like Reid, they gravitated to him and decided to do exactly what Reid does with Wynn. They decided to project Reid onto this perfect stranger to ease the loneliness 😔
