FAQ - New Patrons Please Read!

I get some common questions which I think would be helpful to answer here publicly! 

1. What are art tokens?

Art tokens are a simple way of giving you some money back each month! They are each worth $1 and can be redeemed against commissions. They can be used even when my commissions are closed, and in mixed payments. Read more about them, and check how many you have, here (updated monthly). 

2. Where do I give my ref for the monthly art?

Make sure you join the Oakiel discord server! This is where I post all my WIPs and more frequent rewards, as well as notifying about important changes, and delivering benefits (such as adopt pre-claims). If you have not linked your Discord to your Patreon, you can join manually here. Make sure you let me know when you join that you are a patron (including which tier, and what your username here is) so I can give you access to the secret channels.

The secret channel #patreon-members is where I go to collect the refs for each month's free art. If you are uncomfortable sending your OC there, you can DM me them directly via Discord. Everyone gets the "patreon posse" role, but "core"/"specials" get an additional role so I can easily ping to request refs each month - so don't worry about forgetting.

3. Do I get the reward for the month if I joined in the middle?

Absolutely! Patreon takes payment upon your sign-up. Just go to patreon-members and post your OC there as soon as you're ready. 

4. What is the free monthly art?

The free monthly art is just that - a fully finished artwork delivered to you at no extra cost. The type of art is subject to change, and often can be different each month. The art for the specials tier will always be of $30-60 value, and for the core tier, of at least $15-25 value, to reflect the worth of the support. If there is a commission type around these prices that you would love to see as your free monthly art, be sure to let me know! Which leads me to...

5. Can I make requests, suggestions, etc?

Yes please! If you have any questions, requests or suggestions, I would love to hear them. This can be feedback about the current set-up of rewards, things you would like to see in the future, etc etc. You can message me here, although replies will be slow, or message direct in the patreon-members chat.

6. Will there be more slots opened for the top tiers?

Unfortunately due to the monthly workload of drawing so much art for the top tier members, I am unable to take on more than the current amount of slots. Check back regularly to see if anyone has left. In the future I hope to expand the number of spaces available by reworking the benefits on offer - though this will always be discussed openly with Patrons of these tiers! I'd like to explore the possibility of offering physical monthly merchandise.
