RJ Ramblings

Hey everybody!

The Tammy image I included today is just me messing around with different hair styles for fun. 

As most of you probably know, my home life has kind of been upside down since last week. The fire at the house was not major - no possessions damaged, nobody injured - but the damage to the wiring is bad enough that we can't live there. We found an AirBNB to stay at, and it was kind of up in the air how long things were going to take and how long we would be able to stay here. All the uncertainty made me really anxious for most of the week. 

But now we know that the work on the house cannot even begin until July 5th and they're estimating it'll take 4 days to fix. We've secured the place that we're staying in until the 11th. Hopefully by then we'll be able to move back into my house. It's nice to at least have an idea of when things will happen and that we'll have a place to stay until then. 

The house we're staying in is a bit more uncomfortable than home, of course. The bed is not as big and not even close to as comfortable. The space is smaller, so the proximity to our roommate is a little closer than I'd like. The dogs don't have a back yard, so we have to take them for walks three times a day. The kitchen is tiny, so cooking has become much more of a hassle. Plus just not having all the things that we need, and frequently either going back to the house to get stuff, or trying to make things work with what we have. 

It's all been a bit tiring. And I haven't been sleeping very well. And I've been feeling pretty depressed about the whole situation. 

It definitely could be a lot worse. Right now it just feels like a bad vacation, and I just want to go home. 

One positive thing has been that the internet here is very fast, so I've been able to download a lot of things that I couldn't at home. I actually bought two 4TB external drives - one for PC and one for PS5 - and have just been loading them up with all the games on my Steam library that I've been wanting to play, but couldn't download at home. Also took the time to update Daz and Unreal, and load up on any assets that I thought I might be able to use. That has been very useful. Plus just being able to upload Come Home in like 5 minutes instead of 9 hours. 

Anyways, that's pretty much all I got right now. I'm uncomfortable and a little sad, but safe and still able to work. I know a lot of people have said "Don't worry about work. Focus on yourself," all of that. Trust me when I say that I want to work. If I couldn't work right now, I'd be much more sad and upset. Putting on my headphones and working on the game is something I look forward to doing every day.
