Last Halloween I played through the early access version of Layers of Fear. It scared me so bad that I haven't gone back to finish it. That's the goal for tomorrow night! (I don't think I could play on Halloween as I work early the next morning, and I don't think I would sleep well after finishing it) I also purchased Soma (which I heard is more philosophical than scary) which I hope to get to this weekend as well.

Resident evil, Tekken and The legend of zelda are franchises that I grew up with. Resident Evil got me into the horror genre single handedly. My first experience with it: I was at one of my Moms friends houses and her son, whom i've still never met, was a bit older. My Moms friend told my little brother and i, we were about 8 or 9, that we can play with her sons playstation. He didnt have many games but Resident Evil stuck out to me and my brother so we popped it in. Ill skip to the best parts, we could barely function with the tank controls so when the zombie turned its head and we had to run away we kept running into the wall in a panic. It was the most intense moment ive ever had with a game at that point and we would dare each other to go into the room with the zombie, both of us too afraid to try. It was glorious.

Excellent episode! I always feel excited when Huber talks about his favorite games Resident Evil. I have actually always held off on these games, that is, until I finally got REmake HD for free this month, and I decided "this is it!". As a kid, I was always excessively scared of horror games, even Ocarina of Time was too scary for me for a long time, so overcoming my fear for really playing Resident Evil has been a long time coming. And to my surprise these games hold up incredibly well, and I was scared throughout REmake almost the entire time. Also, thanks to Huber's hype, I couldn't help it but boot up RE2 for the first time on an emulator and I can see what the hype is about. It's just a really good mix of the true-to-nature horror of RE but also a more epic story in scope, and it perfectly captures the sense of dread of this big city succumbing to an epidemic, while Leon and his aquintances try to figure out how to escape.

I gave Resident Evil remake a shot since it was free on PS+but could not get into it. The gameplay was not for me and I could not stand the fixed camera. I played a couple hours before I had to give up. Also when do we get to see Brad's Halloween setup?
