I get where you are coming from, I myself am a huge fan of the game too but tbh I was just glad to see it get a mention at all. Granted Blood likes racing games but even he leans more towards the arcade racing side as far as I'm aware. Honestly I don't really need or want them to spend much time on it because if they can't speak with passion about it, whats the point? It would only lead to a forced conversation, which leads to racing fans getting upset if they get something wrong and non racing fans being bored imo. I recommend trying more specialist sites like insidesimracing etc. when your craving more in depth coverage of those games. :)

The amount of love Hyper Light Drifter got in the GOTY discussion made me so sad. It's the game that's had the biggest impact for me personally this year (more so than The Witness or Dark Souls III), so I felt like it at least deserved some mention of what it did well other than "didn't play it", "I'm biased", and then end of discussion. It was so crafted and wonderful! Even though NG+ totally kicks my ass and I will never succeed at beating it. In any case, it's the main reason I'm planning on making my own game now. (That said, I get that my reaction was probably a personal one and is not going to be typical of everyone's.)

Fun fact: You can check the weighting of a die by testing in salt-water. I've used it for d20's (faulty dice are actually common, good to weed them out of your collection!) I don't know if it will work for the d4 but hey, might be fun to try!

Shadow of Mordor is not a garbage game. The innovation behind the Nemesis system alone should keep it from being called garbage. When you call a game a garbage game you insult every person that worked on that game. No one in the gaming industry should be that disrespectful of such hard work. I know lots of people that got a lot of enjoyment from that game and it did get GOTY for a reason. Still love you guys, lots of respect, but respect the hard work put into the development of that game. New IP also, so points for not just remaking something or creating another sequel. Love and respect guys...love and respect.

While I disagree with the standpoints of the game having an identity crisis, the developers not wanting to offend anyone, and I also don't recall how Uncharted is offensive and crass (would love some examples), I wanted to say thanks for providing your view. UC 4 is my personal GOTY so far this year, and I also feel it is actually the best in the series because of MY interpretation, which is simply this game was all about effectively concluding the story of Drake and Co. While there is less combat than any other Uncharted game, I actually enjoyed that. My favorite moments in the game are Chapter 4 and the Epilouge because of those very reasons. I fully believe Misters Druckmann, Straley, and the rest of Naughty Dog knew exactly how and what direction they were going with A Thief's End. We clearly disagree but I really enjoyed reading your critiques. Thanks for sharing!

I get why frequent gamers and people who already have a PS4 think the pro is silly/pointless/a bad idea, but I think it's all about perspective. For people who don't have one, they will walk in a store and have a choice between a 500gb PS4 and a 1tb PS4 that also can offer better graphics for only $100 more. That's a pretty damn good deal. Pretty sure a 500gb X1S and 2tb model are the same price difference. Sure $400 gets you 2tb there, but it doesn't get you a better gpu. All I'm saying is that the PS4 Pro isn't that bad of a deal or that outlandish/confusing for new customers. It's kind of a no-brainer. I think sony's presentation just made it seem more confusing than it is. Maybe even made too much of a big deal about it. I think it is actually kind of a brilliant way to price protect your product. Typically as time goes on during a console generation, the price of the console drops and I imagine profits drop with it. Sony found a way to still have a $400 sku on the market and probably still maintain a decent profit. It probably won't outsell the vanilla PS4 but it will do just fine. Heck, if you're in the market for a PS4 it's worth it just for the extra storage space(probably cost you at least $50 to upgrade in your own). All the 4K, increased frame rate, gpu and processor boost nonsense is just a nice bonus. Just stunned by all the negativity I see around the pro. I have a Laing PS4 and sure, there's nothing compelling enough to warrant an upgrade, but I don't mind. It's not for me (despite Sony kind of trying to market it to me) and I'm okay with that.

Xcom 2 and The witness are coming to consoles so they're getting new players and buzz for that GOTY discussion. The witness and Firewatch were allready on PS4 but are now coming to Xbox one as well. It is hard for a multiplayer focused game to win GOTY awards because everybody is not having the same or atleast similar experience with it where as single player everybody has those story moments and conclusion. Atleast that's what I think.

Correction to a correction: The game is NOT called "V! What Did I Do To Deserve This, My Lord? R!"! That was the old name for the series, back when NISA published it like 5 years ago. Ever since Sony started localising it themselves, starting with the third game in the series, it's been called "No Heroes Allowed!" So the English name will be "V! No Heroes Allowed! R!"

So on Uncharted 4: This game is a perfect example of a Dev reacting too much to criticisms. A narrative that kept dogging the series as it went from games media - was that the game had "ludonarrative dissonance". Or rather, that Drake was a raging psychopathic killer, and a white man "pillaging" the cultures of others. The problem with that is, Uncharted at its core, is a serial adventure / pulpy exploitation narrative. It's in the realm of Indiana Jones. So ascribing violence with moral weight (when violence in the genre is used as action), completely undoes what the genre is. Uncharted 4 felt like it was ashamed of its past games. It tries so hard to avoid "conflict" and "violence", and wants to spend too much time humanizing an action hero. I'm all for Drake and the characters being fleshed out, because one of the main anchors of the series is its cast of characters. But 4 spends a lot of time on this - at the expense of the pulpy/ action adventure stuff. It almost seems like it's there solely to avoid it. So 4 comes off like a game with an identity crisis. It wants to be an over the top action adventure, and yet it doesn't want to give our characters the free range to jump in. Imagine Indiana Jones afraid to use his gun. Luke and Han Solo, having deep moral quandaries about shooting a storm trooper. That said, I personally love Uncharted 4. As someone that is a big fan of film, I think UC4 prob gets the closest I've seen a game get to "film" in terms of pacing, mature storytelling, and cinematography. The game not only looks like a movie, the story is actually told like one. And while I have my own personal flaws with the game, I actually can step back and truly appreciate it for what it is. I think some people are over looking at what a master piece the game kind of is in terms of being cinematic storytelling. But on the other hand, the "game" aspect suffers. And well you know, video games should like be games and such. But at least for me, the more time goes on, the more I realize the flaws. The game is bogged down by too many walking/exploration sections that go on and on. They finally fixed the "combat gameplay", and yet do everything to avoid combat in the game (so many wasted opportunities. And the gameplay is actually fun in this game). As a final note, I recommend everyone check out Max Landis video one why Nadine is a horrible character, and how it's an example of writers being afraid of falling into a "narrative trap" (or internally trying to shy away from criticisms). I feel like it sums up a lot of problems in the game. The Devs are actually so invested in not offending people or being criticized, that they second guess themselves and write things into a corner. Nadine would have been a perfect villain, had they not botched her ark/ending: <a href="https://youtu.be/C6b79OQk9B8" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://youtu.be/C6b79OQk9B8</a> He can be annoying to some, but seriously listen to the whole thing. It's so spot on as to the problems this games writing has. And IMO these problems expand outward to the whole game (the Devs were afraid to embrace the genre of their series). To wrap this up, I'm not suggesting criticism /analysis is a bad thing. Devs should be free to listen to these things (IMO they are better off for being opened minded to criticisms). But this is a case where IMO the heart of Uncharted lies in the genre. And the criticisms that the games media overwhelmingly lobbed at it (making it a moral battleground), completely undermined what the Uncharted games about. They are exploitation adventures. They are pulpy. They are offensive and sometimes crass. It's not for everyone, and that's fine. Sometimes it makes more sense to take on criticism and "improve" what you are going for, rather then retreating from it. And I feel that's what Naughty Dog here. Appreciate anyone that actually reads all this ~ Emily

Fire Emblem Fates is amazing and they are 3 complete stories that don't connect at all it's just your choice of which of your families you side with and the third one you are able to keep both of them and make them not kill the other family. You can buy any of the stories and play any of them, they just recommend playing revelations last.
