Yakuza 6 Blew Us Away - TGS 2016 Impressions
Added 2016-09-29 23:01:41 +0000 UTCHey allies! I was fortunate enough to check out Yakuza 6 at TGS 2016 and I can't stress enough how much it impressed me. The series feels like it's on the top of its game and I hope my impressions video does a good job conveying that.
This is the first of numerous videos that I'll be releasing relating to my time in Japan. I'm also doing a video series called "Tales from the East", which will discuss specific elements I learned about during the trip. The first video is about fandom and I'm hoping to get it done by the end of the weekend.

I picked up Yakuza 3 back in the day and have been hooked since then. Strangely I didn't find 5 is compelling as 3 and 4 but tastes vary. I happen to be living in Okinawa for the next two years (active duty military) so will be here when Yakuza 6 gets released to Japan. It's going to be very hard to resist picking up a japanese copy but I don't speak the language and so much will be lost. Just going to hold out and hope 6 gets localized.
2016-10-03 00:59:08 +0000 UTCThey are definitely an ongoing story but I jumped in with Yakuza 3 and never looked back. They are phenomenal. Yakuza 3 and 4 both had excellent recap videos of the plot so far (strangely, Yakuza 5 did not.) Perhaps they will do so again in Yakuza 6. While I'm sure you can have fun with Yakuza 6 when it comes out, you would be doing yourself a huge favor by picking up Yakuza 3 cheap and playing from there.
