FanimeCon Panel Video Update

Hey everyone,

I want to thank Shadowmarrba and heysudowoodo for filming the panel and trying to help us make a video of it happen. However, I regret to inform everyone that there are some issues on our end with assembling the footage provided, and given the current workload on our three primary video editors' plates as we head into E3 and the weeks following, it was simply going to be too large of a project for any one of them.

We did attempt to put the footage together, but the time it was going to take us was much greater than I thought, and it wasn't going to be a simple assembly job like anticipated.

Thus, I have to unfortunately announce we will not be using the footage we were provided to create a video of the panel.

Those of you who provided us video, of course feel free to to do what you wish with your footage, but we will not be able to post an official video of the panel on our YouTube channel. In the future, if we have any other panels, we will try to have a dedicated person assigned to filming it.

L&R,

- Damiani

I was wondering what I was gonna watch on my lunch at work tomorrow. Thank you :)

Please post over on the Facebook fan group if you can! <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/easyalliesfangroup/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.facebook.com/groups/easyalliesfangroup/</a>

LATEST UPDATE: THE VIDEO IS ABOUT AS READY AS IT WILL EVER BE <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2N4CkyiPlY" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2N4CkyiPlY</a>

We finally did! <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2N4CkyiPlY" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2N4CkyiPlY</a>

We gave as much verbal permission we could short of signing papers, but it's now up! <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2N4CkyiPlY" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2N4CkyiPlY</a>

sadly there wasn't a truly raw version, the cameras used to record it all had recording limits on them, so it had to be edited together, but it's finally done! <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2N4CkyiPlY" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2N4CkyiPlY</a>

It's up, though not on the EZA channel since they dropped editing it <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2N4CkyiPlY" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2N4CkyiPlY</a>

Turns out the delay ends now: <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2N4CkyiPlY" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2N4CkyiPlY</a>

It's a year late, but good news you can now watch the whole thing: <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2N4CkyiPlY" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2N4CkyiPlY</a>

As the person who assembled and edited it, I can tell you that there are several problems stemming from the fact that there are 3 cameras, one of which is horribly underexposed. Thankfully though, there's only one minor gap in the footage, and you can now watch it yourself <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2N4CkyiPlY" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2N4CkyiPlY</a>

It's done and finally up! <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2N4CkyiPlY" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2N4CkyiPlY</a>

One year later the video is done! (this time no export errors) <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2N4CkyiPlY" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2N4CkyiPlY</a>

Thank you!

I'd be happy with just an audio track, you can just have an image of the guys sitting on the couch in front of you and pretend.

If I'm not mistaken the streams leading up to the panel they did state that there are plans in place to record and upload a recording of the panel for patrons that didn't get to attend. Which is why its so frustrating and confusing for them to come out now and totally go against all their promises in the past and let everyone down just like that after promising we will not be left out. This is inexcusable

Nut Kon

I'm confused as to why the filming was done by fans in the first place. Was that the plan all along, or were there last-minute complications and someone from EZA wasn't able to come film the panel? I'm totally fine if you guys decide not to film panels, live events, etc., they're primarily for the people present and you aren't obligated to share it with everyone else. But, if you do decide to film live events, please take the time to plan it out and make sure that everything goes smoothly.

Paging Shadowmarba and whoever else recorded: please just release the video at this point, so we can all watch it, no matter how garbage the quality is.

The reasoning given here seems a little bit too vague. Technical problems assembling, but then saying there's not enough people to do it. The technical problems assembling implies that you aren't sure if its even possible to make a cohesive video, or its simply the quality of it. A little more details on what exactly these technical problems are would be welcome. Or just letting somegamenews upload it. :)

Casts a little bit of a shade of doubt on future events if you can't always be there to see it live. A delay is better than cancellation, but then I have very little concern for FF7RE to begin with, you guys could always record another discussion about it when we actually know more about the game.

ZyloWolfBane

Why not just do it after E3?

Canceling it is weird. Just delay it until you have time.

klastical

I am concerned about this being a full cancellation. I understand the time commitment, but perhaps this could be done over a long period of time. It's sort of like Kinda Funny Live 2, which was released on YouTube 9 months after the event. This shouldn't be outright cancelled, it should just be delayed for a while. Take your time

jif52

It's understandable, but I would definitely like it if one of the people that recorded it would post them somwhere, even unedited. I really want to see that panel! :/

MaxVSTheGames

How about posting a raw version on the EZA Plays channel for now?

Richard Goetz

Canceling it feels weird versus just delaying it until there's time.

MBUN

Well, it's disappointing for me, but I appreciate the update and understand the reasoning. Would be cool if the users upload their footage, though.

Dennis M.

I am a freelance editor and would be willing to edit the video together for free.

Evan

Assuming the creators of the video give permission, could you upload the parts somewhere? I would imagine someone in the community would be happy to assemble them.

Totally understandable, thanks for the update! And thanks for all the hard work going into E3
