The first people calling the suicide hotline will be the people that you're supposed to call at the suicide hotline... I mean, it's gonna weight heavily on these people when they can't "save" someone... For the iPhone sale blockage, well it's not all that surprising actually. The way it happened it because Apple would not disclose how their tech works, so no technical experts could examine it and properly decide whether Qualcomms charges were true or not. So for procedural reasons Qualcomm "won" this by default. Of course Apple can challenge this and for the blockage to happen Qualcomm had to deposit a whole lot of money, but that's how it's now. From what I read I can't really explain why partners are still allowed to sell it though... but technically those aren't sold by Apple, but by the partners so maybe that's why? Maybe partners can't order new ones once they run out? I can't get any info on that /edit: Actually therer was an update on this on Dec 21: Apple will have to recall and destroy all iPhone 7/8/X from all retailers, the "only Apple store" thing was only for a day.
