Greg Kroah-Hartman - Interview With A Linux Legend!

Comments

Yep, but I'm looking for something a little bit more white-paper-level than a LTT vid. I'm currently working with some of the FreeBSD devs to get things working on a Layerscape system and we're having a lot of problems enumerating PCI busses, mapping interrupts, and getting it to not panic with NVMe attached.

Wendell helped Linus[TechTips] on their NVMe storage server, they had the problems he's referencing.

Around 33:30 Greg is talking about needing to do "different things" because NVMe is so fast, and Wendell responds with "interrupts are not working out for NVMe". Anybody know where I can find more? I know the kernel is doing some asynchronous IO to minimize IO wait, but the interrupt bit is news to me.
