CMR is a good sign. I didn't know they were helium filled drives. I remember back when those first came out. Since then, I have never heard of any reports about how good or bad they have been at not letting the helium leak out. And what happens when the helium does leak out.... I'll likely never own one of these drives since as a consumer and not a business my priority is capacity and reliability, not transfer speed. For fast data access I obviously use SSDs.

They're CMR, but I have doubts about reliability. They're helium-filled, but still, this is 50% more moving parts.

The important question is are these drives SMR or HAMR, because those are a hard no for me.....

I would be curious about the performance of one of these drives compared to 2 smaller drives (earlier was gig meant TB so edit).
