Requesting Submissions for Our Next Patreon Exclusive Show

Kyle here. Last year, some minor magic happened during the recording of a Friend Code episode. Damiani had asked listeners to submit hypothetical ideas for Switch achievements that the panel would then critique. One of these achievements was "Get through the first level of Tropical Freeze without collecting a banana." We thought, "Wait. We could just try doing this one!" We plugged Damiani's Switch in and recorded his best effort to achieve this imaginary achievement. It turned out to be impossible, but was really fun for all of us nonetheless.
We're going to try to make an entire series out of that moment. It's called Achieve It Yourself. The format will have me, as host, feeding two Easy Allies 2-to-4 patron-submitted Switch achievements per episode. We'll produce six 10-12 minutes episodes, recording for around a half hour per episode. Today until Thursday, April 11th, I am asking for your ideas for Switch achievements.
Here are the achievement parameters:
- Must be for a Switch game
- Is not annoyingly difficult. I'm looking more for creativity than cruelty
- Must be achievable within 20 minutes. In fact, each episode will begin with a quick and easy warmup achievement, so even easy (but still unusual) achievements are appreciated
- Do not submit more than one achievement

2019-04-05 07:40:30 +0000 UTCsorry to spread dissent in this shiny little bubble but I'll try to say it better since it didn't seem to go over very well last time. it's too many patreon-exclusive shows. patreon may have grown since you started doing them, but correlation =! causation. I was also one of the people who joined in that time frame but it was in spite of those shows, not because of them. you barely even hear about those shows unless you're already a patron. you are putting your most original ideas outside of mass feeds and behind a paywall, which is just crazy to me. just my two cents, take it or leave it.

Someone else wanted you to get ALL the bananas from 1-1 of Tropical Freeze. You tried both and neither were possible. The Captain Toad one was mine, so I guess now I get to say I half-inspired an EZA series :)

I get that multi-platform games would have achievements elsewhere but the chance to make one up is really fun. EDIT EDIT: Ah hang on - comment above says "if we can play it on Switch, it qualifies" so it seems like a non issue. Yay

2019-04-04 23:53:56 +0000 UTCCan we assume all levels/areas are unlocked? The 20 minute time limit makes it limiting if not, eg Zelda is limited to the Plateu and Mario to the Cap Kingdom. Perhaps if certain levels/powers are required to attempt the achievement, we could list them?

Just an aside for Patreon exclusive shows though, maybe it would be a good idea to make the first episode available to everyone on the main channel to give a taste and entice people to become patrons?
