I appreciate your opinions even though I don't completely agree with all of them but my biggest gripe with this spoilercast is Jones not letting any one else even speak. Come on man I know you are a huge fan as am I but Damiani got interrupted so many times.

I was hoping so hard for Rey to become a sith and have an epic fight against light-side Kylo! Instead we got the usual: evil guy is super confident the hero will join him/her, to nobodies surprise the hero doesn't. I can barely handle that Rey was boring from Ep7 to the end of Ep9. Just super good at everything and instantly surpassing everyone that came before her. The movie overall is "ok", pretty random (like the medal for Chewy out of nowhere) but had some great visuals.

I saw it a few nights ago. It was flawed, but epic. Wished they stretch one more film out of it so that not so many ideas and plot points were crammed into one film. Going to see it again soon. Love and respect and remember: the Force will be with you. Always.

I liked the movie but its deeply flawed. I agree with almost everything the allies said. For me, Star Wars has become this thing that's fun if you just go with it and mostly turn your brain off. It sucks that we've gotten to this point, but it is what it is. The big bullet point moments of this trilogy were all pretty solid (off the top of my head). It's the stuff in between that's all wrong. And it's all just too much story to tell in 8~9 hours. Maybe it would have worked better as a long running series. Either way, it definitely doesn't feel like there was a plan to tell a cohesive story across three movies, or that the proper, full consideration was given to what came before.

I like this spoiler mode, but you guys really should have at least one more ally here, there was little moderation and a good chunk of it was just shitting on TLJ. Maybe bring out a guest when you cant bring the allies

I think Disney is playing the long game with star wars, when the first movie came out, my hype level was at 10, the second movie was 5 the third movie -10. What I am thinking is they achieved their goal where the movies are no longer special they are now, "well it can only get better form here" or "maybe the next one will be a hit" the fans of the original who are upset will just have to admit defeat and say they no longer like it and move on while Disney focuses on the new fans or whoever is left.

I actually loved this movie and it was just as good on the third viewing! It wasn't cinematically pleasing so to speak, but full of heart. For me Star Wars has always been a pulp movie but in space. So hokey moments don't bother me much. Kylo Ren is definitely the stand out character of this trilogy and I'm glad we finally got to see OP Rey. For me, it was far better than 1, 2 & 6.

Man this movie is super divisive. I for one enjoyed it. Wasn’t my favorite Star Wars. Wasn’t my least favorite. And I really wish an arc had been established from episode vii to follow so there wasn’t things that JJ clearly “corrected”

Please do a sequel to this Spoiler Mode with the other allies. Maybe even make it a trilogy. But I’d love to hear the other allies’ opinions and feels regarding Rise of Skywalker. JJ did the best he could to tell a cohesive storyline that awkwardly tries to justify the differences between episode 7 and 8. I liked episode 9 but ultimately, I agree with Damiani that this trilogy suffered from poor decisions made by the executives currently in charge of the Star Wars franchise.

Brad is 100% wrong. Only watched first 5 mins so far but Palatine being the father was NOT planned ever. JJ didn't even think about what would happen in 8 much less 9. It was a straight ass pull to retread the same old ground.

I’d like there to be a sequel to this spoiler mode with the other allies.

The Last Jedi I loved on first viewing, and on repeat viewings of it as well as empire and ROTJ I've realized how Rhian Johnson manages to weave the lessons of the prequels and OT (the Jedi obsession with discipline and suppression of emotion is just another manifestation of the dark side) into a message that truly gave a platform for Rey to be something new and create something new in the same vein of Luke. And then this movie came out and it felt like it was written by a high council of redditors who all got wet over snoke fan theories.

I've been a little frustrated by the critical reception of this one, not because it's an exceptional movie by any stretch of the imagination, but because from some corners I've sensed almost an unwillingness to engage with it beyond unfavorable comparisons to TLJ, which I thought was similarly good but flawed (albeit in completely different ways). So I just wanted to thank you guys for producing one of the most even-handed, on-point evaluations of it I've encountered so far.

Not sure if you mention it because I’m still in hour 1, but palpetine’s chamber at the end gave me FF7 vibes: old villain goes to a cold, isolated location to recover from their greatest defeat, and surrounds themselves with a legion of black-robed followers (who might be clones).
