Cup of Jones - May 4, 2020 - Audio

May the 4th be with you! I don’t have anything Star-Wars-related for this episode, I’m just a big nerd. Thank you to everyone who left kind messages about my first outing as official moderator of the EZA Podcast. Some of these comments made their way into the episode as wonderful suggestions about ways to highlight or omit stuff I’ve brought into the new version of the show. This is the perfect place to figure this stuff out, and I appreciate everyone staying invested. For today’s editorial I’m finally going to discuss why Ocarina of Time is the greatest game ever created.

PERSONAL QUESTIONS

TODD KREMER - Hello Jones! I've beat RE3 Remake 4 times, and am new to the franchise starting with RE7 and 2 Remake, I was wondering, because I feel as though you enjoy these games in the same way I do, which one would you recommend I pick up next? I've only played RE 7, Nemesis, RE 2 Remake and RE3 remake. JONES - RE4, no question. There are tons of places to get it, and it holds up 100% I think the story is ridiculous and the characters are silly, but it is so so so much fun. RE Remake is also still solid after all these years, if you’re still hungry after RE4. Different pace, of course, but still great.

ALEXANDER ZYRYANOV - If I’m not mistaken, you like both video editing and theater. Do you miss “cuts” and “camera angle changes” when you watch stage performance? JONES - Nope! When I watch television and film, I also miss out on all the wonderful things theater provides. There’s a thrill you get watching a cast try to pull off a perfect performance that’s completely lost with anything recorded and edited. Not to mention becoming the camera yourself. You get to pick what you get to focus on and when.

EDVIN - Since you seem to be a fan of rpgs (DQ11, FF6, etc). And you are known to love huge explorable worlds in video games. Not to mention your love for anime books. Is there any chance of you trying out Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition when it launches? Is it over or under 20%, what do you say? JONES - Probably under. It’s not a question of interest, just time. Looking ahead at the next 3 or 4 months, there are probably only a handful of games that I think are worth taking my mind away from Easy Allies work. But it has definitely intrigued me as a series. I enjoy the freedom it seems to have, and the world looks fascinating to explore. There just aren’t enough hours in the day.
