Again, I'm late. I have a couple of things I want to talk about. Mass Effect. I hold this series to a high standard. I have it ranked up there with the Metal Gear Solids and Zeldas (Top 2 favorite series of all time). So when Andromeda came out the way it did it sort of killed a lot of my motivation to play any other games release afterwards. I was that devastated to see how disappointing that game turned out to be. Mass Effect 2 is also my favorite out of the series but I love Mass Effect 1 as well. I think the main reason why was because it was the first time I played a western RPG and I was burnt out on JRPG's at the time and seeing how different they were just had such an impact on me at that time. But as far as ME2 goes, the crew and the voice acting had me glued. The missions were too good. To tell you how much love I have for ME2, I got all the way to the survival mission and stopped playing for a year because I didn't want it to come to an end. Mass Effect 3 I don't remember too much. I remember liking the way it played. Favorite character will always be Garrus. Indie games Unfortunately, I'm just not into a lot of them. Most of my attention is focused on fighting games and unless it's a big name game I'm not going to really pay much attention to lesser known titles. I think the best thing to do for me is to constantly bring it up until you get me annoyed to a point to where I would have to look it up just to stop hearing about it. Great episode. L&R

Hey Ben I know It's probably not the right place to ask, but I would really love a new D&D campaign. I'm listening to the old Tabletop Adventures Episodes right now for the first time and it is fascinating to see how much you grew as a DM. Tabletop Escapades inspired me to also try D&D and it really became an importante Part of my life. I know Kyle is missing, but I could see any other Allie bringing there own flavor to it. Having a D&D group with Jess would also be amazing, but that probably will be difficult to organinze I guess. Since you are back in the studio, I just hope to here something in that direction soon. Love and Respect Gunther

Weird that you guys never mention Resident Evil when discussing formulaic games

Two weeks ago due to a friends recommendation, my group of 5 started FFXIV. I have always hated mmos. I expected to hate this one. I fell in love. So much so I’m now level 45 with my friends not far behind. But it’s become all encompassing. I went back and listened to Frame Traps mentioning FFXIV. I look up information about it. I have the new Rachet Abd Clank sitting here virtually untouched. And at this point I feel consumed and all in on this game with every other game drifting to the foggy periphery. So, my question for the crew: What was the last game that all consumed you in this way. A game where all you wanted to do was read, watch, talk about it, abs explore it. A game that blocked out all others from your purview. Love bd respect. Dan.

I'm in the same boat. 2 plays well but they absolutely *gutted* the RPG elements. The game is dumbed down so much and it's always a disappointment. I think 3 plays the best as a compromise between being a good shooter and good RPG elements, but 1 is the one that will always be in my heart as the favorite, easily. Also while 2 has so much great on the micro level for character stories, the overall plot is complete filler. Which is no great crime for entry 2 in a planned trilogy, especially on replay in a setting like this. But it doesn't hold a candle to ME1 in that respect.

Lol at Kaiden being alive Huber. Also, Brad’s ship rant was great.

Loved the Mass Effect talk. I know the "I don't understand how your favorite isn't ME 2" comment wasn't completely serious, but I'll throw my hat in the ring anyway. 1 is like a top 5 game for me, warts and all. That main storyline is so good, even though it's a bit sparse and surrounded by some filler. Saren and Sovereign are just so good and are the best villains in the series. The Virmire mission top to bottom and the Vigil reveal at Illos are incredible and aren't really topped for me in terms of stakes and atmosphere in the trilogy. And even though the exploration and RPG elements are objectively really rough, for me it still gave the game a real feeling of scope and agency fitting for a Spectre. Really hyped that you guys are back together in the studio! Great podcast.
