I really enjoyed the adventure mode in Mario Golf and beating it is required for unlocking all the courses so that was a good motivator. It’s kind of like Golf Story-lite. After beating that I felt kind of unmotivated to play any more which is a shame. I think what was really missing is how you used to have to play a tournament to unlock new characters. I wish you didn’t get all of them up front. I miss the challenge of going toe to toe with a character to unlock them.

2021-07-01 16:00:48 +0000 UTCA super quick and minor correction: Nintendo didn't promise any updates for Super Mario Party. A lot of us (rightfully) assumed something would be coming because it did launch with a small amount of boards and, at that point, Nintendo had kind of trained consumers to expect content updates with their multiplayer games like Splatoon 2, Mario Tennis Aces, ARMS and so on. The whole Super Mario Party situation was incredibly strange. DLC seemed like a given. But yeah, they didn't promise updates.
