Cup of Jones - November 29, 2021

Holy cow, did I get my batteries recharged during that break. Amanda and I somehow managed not to schedule anything, so I was gleefully drifting over the cactus-filled canyons of Mexico and through the chaotic streets of Los Santos, San Fierro, and Las Venturas. We at EZA don’t take time for ourselves often, but Slack has definitely been quiet over the last few days. Thank you, so so much, for supporting a system that lets us grab a break here and there and spend time with loved ones. Now, back to the games!

Hey Jones, Let's cut to the chase. Are you avoiding Or Wars?

Badalight

Heya Jones, Yeah, I know. And that's on top all of the other stuff! But if Easy Allies were open a museum, which of the following would it include: armadillas, clever caterpillas, reproductions of the Cyclops' ret'na, crystal blowing, automatic sewing, or Venus on a shell and other works of art?

Hi Jones, I suppose this is more of a Bloodworth/Isla question, but with Soundtrack Club coming to an end, is there any chance to get an episode of Reaction Shots that’s focused on the Original Soundtracks/Original Scores of film?

Sam

Hi Jones, not a question, just want to say so,etching after this episode. I know WFH is great for some things, but big groups are not it IMO. Studio for Q&A is best. I’ve just rewatched every Awards from you guys and the Zoom one just doesn’t compare to the point where I’d be more reluctant to watch another zoom one. Obviously do what suits you guys best, just want to throw in an alternative opinion from last week!

Hey Jones, Consider this a rare personal question. You mentioned it in passing in the last episode of Cup of Jones, but I was wondering if you’ve seen Only Murders in the Building and what you thought of it. I recently went thought it on Disney+ and absolutely loved it. Great mix of comedy and mystery. Super excited for season 2. If you haven’t seen it, highly recommend it L&R Logan Tawse

Hey Mr. Jones! As we get to the end of the year and we’re in between breaks due to Holidays, plus review season is winding down, AND the Game Awards are right around the corner, the thought struck me how the two or three weeks between breaks could be a good time to put a fair number of the “special events” EZA does. Granted, this is ONLY predicated on the Allies even WANTING to do these things and the opportunity would allow to do so. For example, the premiere of a new episode of Mysterious Monsters (if one was shot and edited), a Hall of Greats (since the three to four a year schedule is always in flux, this could guarantee one specific slot in the year), a holiday themed group stream (So Christmas levels, games, etc.), one of the seasonal shows like Achieve It Yourself, Don’t Skip, And For That Reason, and others (granted, these would have to be shot and edited WELL before hand), and anything else that is outside the normal kinds of shows/streaming throughout the year. It’s kind of a weird stretch of time wedged between two breaks and in terms of content (minus reactions to the aforementioned TGAs), it feels a little like a dead period. I felt it could help this portion of the year standout, since January has GOTYs, March is the Anniversary, June has E3 (and subsequent streams from major companies), an Easy Chillin’ is in the Fall, etc. I’m sure this won’t have much traction, but I thought I would ask. Regardless, thanks a lot for reading and have a wonderful rest of your day! Cheers! QUESTION: With this three or so week stretch sitting between long breaks, starting NEXT year, would this be a good time to have a fair number of “Specials” EZA produces like an episode of Mysterious Monsters, Hall of Greats, Christmas themed streams, one of the seasonal shows, etc.?

Yes, I am fully aware Blood is likely to come and weigh in on this and tell me why it can't happen. I'm an ideas person, not a details person... We proved that with my half-in-the-bag series I've written.

Morn'ternoon Jones, Anyways, you talked last week about how you make a separate folder for clips that are cool but don't fit in reviews, and that the struggle of uploading comes from asking permissions from people. What if it was done in a sort of "Year in Review(s)" kind of thing? Like do them all for ALL the reviews, get the permissions, and post it at the end of the year for everyone to enjoy? I know it's a stretch and likely would never happen, but it would be at least moderately cool or interesting to try.
