In terms of recent Christmas films, Krampus has become a go-to every year for us. I’m also excited for the Holdovers this year. P.s. did Huber ever check out any Criterion closet videos? P.p.s. Did either of you see Kojima’s Criterion Closet video??

2023-12-15 10:57:41 +0000 UTCShout out to Christmas episodes of TV shows! Remember when Sipowitz had to be Santa for the precinct’s Christmas party in NYPD Blue? He wasn’t thrilled about it, but he did it for the kids. Some other favorites include The X-Files “How The Ghosts Stole Christmas,” and The Twilight Zone “Night of the Meek” starring Art Carney as a drunken department store Santa who experiences a brush with magic. It makes me cry every time. Finally, and not to get political or anything, but shout out to the well-known holiday tune, Carol of the Bells, which was composed by Mykola Leontovych, a Ukrainian legend who was persecuted and ultimately murdered by Russia’s “Secret Police” over one hundred years ago this month.
