Comic draft: Burnout [2022]

Here's a draft of a little comic I made about a year ago. Back then I was having a pretty bad burnout, well I've been most of past few years tbh. But especially between 2021 and 2022 I struggled a lot with engagement and my own expectations. So this was an illustration of my feelings about it when I was at the bottom.

I tried extra hard to change for a long time, improve and draw what people wanted. Now I'm mainly focused on drawing what I want. But in a way this is quite relevant right now too. I took a scary leap focusing on platforms other than my old main account on Twitter and putting more time and effort into drawing whatever I feel like. Kinda like how my fursona retires to go back to farm after exhaustion. I'm doing now what I wanted to do back then, what I was too scared to do.

It's still pretty damn scary, I can see how it affects my income and I do try to keep up with fanwork to support myself. But I wish someday I'll be able to turn the tables on that and turn my original characters my main income and fanwork for just fun. That sounds like extra distant dream for now tho. And don't get me wrong, I do still love drawing fanwork! But being able to live off something you put your soul into from world building and character creation up would be quite amazing.
