Progress Update – “Morihaus Might” Progress Report

Hey folks!
I just wrapped up the locomotion set—that’s all the walking, running, and idle poses—for our mighty two-handed weapons. Here’s the quick tour:

1. New Idle, New Posture

I lowered the idle stance so your hero stands with their hips closer to the ground—think “ready to spring,” not “standing in line at the market.” At first I kept that low posture for every movement… and it looked like the poor character was hauling a fridge while desperately holding in a bathroom break.

Fix: Now the hips rise a little as you speed up—lowest in idle, medium while walking, highest in a full sprint. It feels much less cramped to me.

Small confession: In chasing a single stance that would “kinda work” for claymores, axes and hammers, I ended up with one that’s perfect for none of them. Forgive the compromise; once I can assign unique motions to each weapon, this will sort itself out.

2. Tomorrow: Attack Animations

Next up: swings and smashes!

3. What’s After Attacks?

Once the main combos are in, I’ll polish transitions and start testing hit detection to be sure every blow feels as good as it looks.
