To everyone who spends nights on Google, because those symptoms present differently on a body like yours
To everyone whose body enters the room before they do
Because the number on the scale matters more to the gate keepers of care than the pain you live with every day
To those who gave up because being disabled is a full time job
To those who gave up because they lost hope
To those we've lost
To everyone who had to fight for a diagnosis in order to get access to treatment, just for insurance to deny coverage
To everyone whose access needs are ignored
To everyone whose access needs may never be met
To those who advocated for their own access needs to be met only to be met with scrutiny, skepticism, harassment, and abuse, because when you walk from your car to the store front, the disability placard is ignored, and all they see is a fat body and a person who has "disabled themself"
Because "real disabled people are born with a disability, they can't change the fact that they're disabled
"You choose to be fat"
"Wheelchairs are for the frails, not the whales ."
"Dead by 30"
Which will kill me first?
