A really big feature this time. Let's see where it takes us from the primitive pencils above. As an aside, this is the first comic I have done while mobilized for active duty.

This is an early version of the scanned-in pencils where I have just begun to do the inks, but I have not yet deleted the pencil sketch background. I work in this mode for quite awhile, actually, but I rarely show this phase in my WIPs.

Then, of course, we have the inks in their initial phase of development.
Skipping ahead (the "cleaned inks" phase) to the initial splashes of color. This is an interesting two-panel developing here, with an obvious jump in scene.
Camouflage is done on the characters (Emma and Juni) while the limousine is kept on the back burner, so to speak.
When I have extreme scene jumps, I frequently concentrate on one panel at a time. If this were a series of panels with characters interacting back and forth through the whole page, I'd be working on all of the coloration in phases throughout the production.
Now the scene with the limousine gets some attention!
I also have the details sketched and inked, but leave the backgrounds to be done entirely with the "lasso" tool I experiment with this a lot and to be honest, sometimes I like it and sometimes I don't. I still haven't decided which is better-- both have advantages and disadvantages.
This is about as far as I can go without revealing the joke. Stay tuned for the final reveal on Friday!
