WIP Friday!

It happens from time to time!

So this last week I made it to Kosovo, and settled in. I've had some really weird sleeping hours and struggles to stay awake when I should be, and struggles to stay asleep when I should be. But it is evening out. In the meantime, though, I was able to make some progress on comics.

The intermediate image that is both pencil background and partial inks. I like including this because it shows how much change really happens during this phase. I drew Juni too big in th ebottom panel and that will be changed... eventually.

This WIP sat at this stage for a long time-- I finished this part in Texas (Fort Bliss) and it stayed stuck here for over a week. I sometimes have the ability to work on projects during long plane flights (it's not comfortable but I can get a lot done) but bad luck was with me: "middle seat"! I was "lucky Pierre" for 9 hours. Then someone lifted my wallet in the Frankfurt airport and I had to deal with that. It was a lot to deal with on top of no set sleep schedule for several days.

Finally, some progress! After almost a week settling into my job and new routine in Kosovo, I had a chance to get some coloring done! I don't have a desk in my room so I need to use the "MWR hut". "MWR" stands for "Morale, Welfare, and Recreation" and it basically means a place where troops can go to chill, play cards, pool, watch TV/Movies, set up a D&D game, etc. I go there to use a desk, while people play darts to one side of me and some British troops challenge each other on a giant floor chess set with pieces about the size of their shins.

I may do a "Kosovo Coloring Book" just to see how that goes.

Some details; Juni got shrunk down to size; and some camouflage. There's more to be done but I ran out of time. I tis (as I post this) Thursday night and I have work tomorrow morning, but this weekend I should be able to finish this and make headway on more cool stuff.

I'll also try to put in some pictures of Kosovo, too. Interesting place. I can assure you, it is a hell of a lot better than being in Iraq. I'd go so far as to say that a bad day in Kosovo is better than the best day in Iraq... aside from "going home day".

Until later!

Comments

Sorry about the weird posting time; I guess it popped up late in the day? I was trying to post in the usual times but I am currently in the same time zone as Budapest/Stockholm.
