So, this is my first comic done 100% in Kosovo. I am working with a different scanner, and it is set for scanning basic black-and-white documents as Adobe .pdf files. There may be a setting to save as graphic-style .jpg, but I am hesitant to mess with the settings because everyone else in the office seems to need them set the way they are.
So I scan things to my work email as .pdf's, then save them as .jpg, and I then email them to my personal email where I open them and alter the size and dpi ratio (they end up some weird dpi, not 72 like most scanners I use, but some unusual ratio, possibly because of the transformations they need to go through to make them workable for me).
Anyhow, I end up with really sparse images like the one above.
Some initial inks with the background still present. I have to keep the original pencil sketches around to refer back to them where the scan didn't pick up!
Now I am getting to a point where I can work with them!
Starting to get the color going...
...and filling in some detail work. Probably psychological on my part, but now I feel like the image doesn't really start to come together until I reach this point.
Camouflage is finally done, a major step for me at this point.
And finally, shading and highlights to really bring it together. I will work on the background later, this isn't going to have anything elaborate since it will be the conversation that provides the main point.
Until later!
