We were doing introduction to rifle marksmanship ("PMI" = Primary Marksmanship Instruction, a classroom phase you attend prior to going out to the firing range) and the instructor warned people that "some crusty old GWOT vet" will try to give them wrong advice about how to use the sights. I felt called out.
(GWOT = Global War On Terrorism, the period from 11-September 2001 until the final pullout from Afghanistan in 26-August 2021... my primary defining time in the Army).
Yeah, I feel like I been in since these days.
I am going against the winds of change!
I just keep going along until they get sick of me and kick me out.
