WIP: Star Wars Character Art

I have mentioned the Star Wars collaborative story I am part of over on a website called "Spacebattles.com"; I am working on making a few character pictures, some of which I have shared here a few weeks ago.

Here is my latest, a character called Shayyla Axmis-Syfardos. She is the daughter of Tavion Axmis, who was originally a canonical character with a minor bit part in the second Kyle Katarn video game, "Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight". In our alternate reality, Tavion started as a minor Sith and turned into a deadly blade master, and eventually had Shayyla.

Here, I have taken the head and body --originally two separate pictures-- and blended them more thoroughly and made the lines more uniform. They are all 4px pencil lines on a 300dpi layer at 2000px x 2908px width & height respectively.

What I typically do with my Star Wars characters' images is I tend to gravitate towards a characters on TV or movies and modify them to suit my needs. In the case of Shayyla, I see her as very similar to the character of Enid Sinclair from the TV show Wednesday. So this does not mean that I base her off of Emma Myers, the actress who portrayed Enid; I base her off the character of Enid. I started with a blue-line trace on a PhotoShop layer, and then modified it a bit. It is hard to see, but I changed eye, nose, and mouth shape and size a bit to make her a bit more what I envisioned.

I did a similar thing with another character that I posted here once: Queen Marika Soong, who's image is based on the character Claudia Donovan from Warehouse 13, but not the actress Allison Scagliotti, who plays her.

I've added a lot of the "flat" color now, but what about her skin? Well, that's an interesting thing about Shayyla; while her mother, Tavion Axmis, was pregnant with her she was going back and forth between being a Sith and more of a Greywalker in the Force. She had been more and more disillusioned with the Sith way and ended up fighting a powerful Sith Lord, and got badly wounded. She drank raw bacta to heal up quick and it washed out all traces of the father's DNA-- it purged everything that didn't belong, so Shayyla really ended up being her mother's clone, for the most part (trust me, in the story, everything makes sense).

So she is sorta-kinda an Albino, in a way, but she doesn't have the debilitating reaction to the sun. It's Star Wars, so it is space fantasy, and it doesn't have to make sense. So anyhow, this is Shayyla, in the story right now she just turned 13 but this picture is supposed to represent her more around 15 to 17 or so. She's a good fighter like her mom but unlike Tavion, she doesn't wrestle with Light Side or Dark Side, she's friendly and pretty Light Side, so very much the opposite in some ways.

Anyhow, I just wanted to share something a little different, since I do work on other things besides just BOHICA Blues.
