Added 2025-07-09 16:00:11 +0000 UTCSince I still have some KFOR humor stocked up, I am going to continue coasting on that. In this one, I am developing a scene that took place at a Mexican restaurant in Prishtina called "Commandante Marcos", which became a favorite of many of us over there.
As usual, I enjoy doing comics set in very different, more dynamic settings since it gives me an opportunity to draw things a little different from the norm. In this case, having my crew gathered around a restaurant table was very outside the norm.
The flip side of this is that I take longer to clean up the images since the usual, known and expected intersection points aren't really common for me-- I know what to expect in various military settings, I know where I usually make mistakes with uniforms or what not, but in new and novel settings, I tend to be overly cautious and add in too many lines "just in case", so I have more to clean up afterwards.
But I also get to use colors! All sorts of colors I don't normally get to experiment with! It's always fun to expand the old palette...
Pretty much the final version, just waiting for dialogue. In this case I also ended up with a much more busy background, too, and with the unusual and lively colors I had to think carefully about the shading, the extra details, and so on. This ended up taking much more time than I had thought, but I enjoy the results.
