Avenger 4-view development

Well, this is what I managed to get finished so far. This has been a much larger project than I had anticipated, and I still don't have the tail done. But the Avenger is pretty much settling in, and this what the results are so far. Interestingly, some of the dimensions didn't work out as I imagined them-- in my earlier works, I drew what looked good from various angles and didn't overly burden my perceptions with thoughts on geometry (or in some cases, continuity).

A little embarrassing as I look closer, now, but what is done is done.

The redesigned port side, brought into alignment with the previous line work:

Looks very similar to the earlier version I posted but there are differences in the form of the hull and its centerline alignment. Ironically, this "revamp" worked and looked better than the other one I had done, which came from an earlier hand drawing I had shown, which at the time I thought had made the ship look more visually interesting. This version is much simpler to draw, which was what I wanted in the first place-- an easy piece of line work that could be done over and over again by hand.

As for the tail? Here's a shot from my reboot pencils so far-- it has a bunch of little details in it that the Star Wars dev teams referred to as "greeblies". I envision a rear-facing tube for dropping mines. This is from a combat assault shuttle variation of the Avenger, called the Corsair.

I will work on that but I need to get back to BOHICA Blues next week. So next week will be all BB, and I will finish this article on my sch-fi project and get that in as soon as possible. The Avenger article still needs a lot of work done for the text so be patient and it will appear in its final form in a couple weeks.

Also, I will be at Boise Comics Arts Festival on the 30th and 31st, but I won't have a table, I'll just be a regular attendee. But if you're in Boise and see me there, say Hi! Over the next few months I will try to get the next BOHICA Blues book completed (I have book 5 of the Iraq adventure mostly done, or, I can issue the KFOR adventure as a stand-along book once I get it organized).
